A huge thankyou goes out to the "twitterati" who have voted us the 2012 winners of the independently sourced and voted for award for "Outstanding Beery Excellence"
"Think of it like the peoples award for beery greatness. It's not supposed to be an award for a single beer, more of a recognition of sterling work done to either create great beer, products promote them and serve the public in some great beery way. Its open to all comers, there's not any specific type of business or person who can win the award"
Not only have Tyne Bank produced some amazing beer, spotlight on 'Southern Star' and 'Heavenly Porter', but they have also embraced their punters.
Opening up the brewery to tours and shoppers as well as hosting a great twissup event last year.
Cheers guys, we love what we do and we are glad you love it to.

This year has been one for specials with Piccolo Black, Heavenly Porter, Treble C and teh Blaydon Racers 150th celebration beer RidelyRacer. By all accounts the celebrations went off with a bang and the beer was well received. We had our first bit of good news with some great press coverage this month from the Journal, Chroical and Cheers. |

Our second success was being chosen bySainsbury's in their Great British Beer Hunt as a regional winner with Silver Dollar. The news came almost a year after we first brewed the American Pale Ale as our launch beer. The first bottles should appear in a store near you (if you live in the North East) from early August. |

The 2012 Newcastle CAMRA beer festival is fast approaching (18-21st April). We have come a long way since our first appearance there last year. This year we have been invited to join in battle of the beers, a single malt beer with no hop limitations with an ABV between 4 and 5%. Well we put our thinking caps on and we came up with Treble C, so called after the Crystal, Cluster and Centennial hops used. It is brewed to 4% with 100% Munich Malt which gives a slight sweetness and copper colour with an orange hue. Hops used are the oldest US commercially grown hop, Cluster alongside the most widely used hop in America Crystal. These low alpha hops give a smooth yet noticeable bitterness and bags of citrus orange flavours yet a distinctive New World type aroma. The pump clip is inspired by the festival colours and the orange flavours of the beer. Treble C will also be available to trade from the 19th April. |
